These festoon lights cable sets with filament bulbs are great for lighting up your living room, terrace or catering establishment. The bulbs have a distinctive filament. This gives the bulbs a unique appearance and provides a pleasant, warm light effect, while creating a cosy atmosphere. At 3.5 watts, the bulbs are perfect for lighting a large room or a wide terrace. Filament bulbs are the latest development in the LED field. Filament bridges the gap between the cosy look of the old-fashioned incandescent bulb on the one hand and the very low energy consumption and long lifetime of the LED bulb on the other. The filament in the bulb is clearly visible, which makes the bulbs true eye-catchers. These bulbs have a diameter of 60 mm and therefore resemble a traditional lightbulb.
This set is available without a dimmer or including an IP44 dimmer set with remote control. The dimmer has a 300 cm connection cable and, thanks to its IP44 protection rating, it is suitable for outdoor use. For long-term outdoor use, however, we recommend extra protection for the connection between the plug and the mating plug. You can do this by placing the connection under a roof or by ensuring that the plugs cannot catch and hold water.
The supplied remote control works on radio frequency (RF) and has the following functions:
The dimmer set is plug & play. You simply plug it into the socket and connect your lights to the dimmer. The dimmer is then ready for use. The radio frequency of the dimmer is universal. If your neighbours use the same dimmer set, it might affect their or your frequency.
The bulbs with E27 fittings feature a virtually unbreakable polycarbonate shade. The LED bulbs are energy-efficient with a long lifespan and are carefully designed and manufactured. High quality and durability are key.
These LED filament bulbs with transparent shade have a wattage of 3.5 watts. A festoon cable set with 3.5 watts bulbs is sufficient for lighting a large room. If you wish to apply soft mood lighting, it is best to choose bulbs with a lower wattage.

The light colour of white bulbs is expressed in Kelvin. 2200 Kelvin (2200K) is what we call ‘extra’ warm white. It is similar to the colour of candlelight, as the light is a bit more yellow. 2700 Kelvin is the colour of the incandescent bulb, still warm white but a little less yellow. Kelvin is a spectrum where the lower the number, the warmer the colour. Sometimes customers find 2200K too warm, but on the other hand, we also have customers who find 2700K not warm enough. Fortunately, the vast majority of customers are happy with the initial choice they made for either variant.
Please note: LED bulbs are only suitable for outdoor use in festoon cables where:
The length of the festoon cable, e.g. 5 metres, represents the distance between plug and end piece. For 5-metre festoon cables, there is 50 cm between plug and first fitting. For 10-metre festoon cables, this is 1 metre. And for festoon cables from 15 to 100 metres, it is 1.5 metres. If you find the measurement to the first fitting too short, you can order an extension cord. With this set, you can choose between 1, 2 or 3 fittings per metre. The number of fittings depends on the light image you want to create, but also on your budget. Most customers choose 2 fittings per metre.
After receiving this warm white festoon cable set with filament bulbs, you only need to screw the bulbs into the fittings. When screwing the bulbs in, make sure the sealing rings are positioned correctly, so that no water can run into the bulbs or fittings of the festoon cable (see manual). Once the bulbs are fitting into their fitting, the sturdy rubber cable is then suitable for outdoor use. Furthermore, the festoon cable is ‘plug & play’. This means that the fittings with sealing rings, the plug and the end piece are already fitted.
When making your choice, you can select standard or connectable festoon cables. The connectable festoon cables feature a unique connector system. If you do not plan to interconnect a festoon cable, a standard festoon cable is the best choice. Should you wish to reconnect this festoon cable in the future, you can do so by mounting a festoon plug connector at the end.
